The Mind Of Christ

A grandiose text is adopted from Philippians 2:5-11 and is set as a glorious anthem. Mark Hayes’ “Mind of Christ” takes you on a musical journey by using pedal tones underneath the divisi parts and harmonies. Then the middle section changes key and meter that is very similar to a Baroque oratorio style before going back to pedal tones and polyphonic entrances that can be heard in the opening. This is a fairly demanding piece because of its length and usage of divisi harmonies. Your listeners will surely stand to give a loud thunderous applause after performing this piece. Which makes Hayes’ “Mind of Christ” the absolute ideal closer for your university or church concert.
